JSWECE is recognized and accredited by Central Electricity Authority (CEA), Ministry of Power, Govt. of India under the provision of Indian Electricity (Amendment) Rules 1981.

The Central Electricity Authority (CEA) is a statutory organization constituted under Section 3 of the repealed Electricity (Supply) Act, 1948. It was established as a part-time body in the year 1951 and made a full-time body in the year 1975. With the objective of reforming the Power Sector, the Electricity Act, 2003 (No. 36 of 2003) has been enacted and the provisions of this Act have been brought into force with effect from 10th June, 2003. With the coming into force of the Electricity Act, 2003, the Indian Electricity Act, 1910, Electricity (Supply) Act, 1948 and Electricity Regulatory commissions Act, 1998 stand repealed.

CEA performs the act of promoting measures for advancing the skills of persons engaged in electricity industry apart from performing other functions.

Owing to a massive demand for trained power professionals in the Indian Power Sector, JSWECE starts a 2nd batch of PG Diploma in Power Plant Engineering with 60 students.

JSWECE commissions its dynamic, high-fidelity, PC-based 300 MW Thermal Power Plant Simulator. The state of the art Simulator is dedicated to the nation. Training program on the Simulator launched with 6 trainees from JSWEL Ratnagiri.

Batch-1 PG Diploma Students return from 4-month On Job Training at JSWEL, Barmer and JSWEL, Ratnagiri. The students get exposure to erection, commissioning, operation and maintenance of both CFBC plant of 135 MW at Barmer and PF fired plant of 300 MW at Ratnagiri.
