In view of the ever increasing demand for energy due to the massive industrial, commercial and domestic growth in the country, Govt. of India plans to almost double the installed power generation capacity by the end of 12th plan. Such an ambitious plan requires massive capacity addition in the public sector and the private sector with a corresponding requirement of trained power professionals. In this scenario, a clear supply-demand gap is seen with respect to skilled and competent manpower available for the power industry in the country.

In order to address the power sector demands and the requirements of engineering education in the country, JSWECE conducts short-term certificate course for final year engineering and diploma students on Thermal Power Plant Engineering. This course can be added as complimentary program by engineering colleges and institutes to their regular academic curriculum.

The course gives a detailed insight to the students to familiarize them with thermal power plant processes and equipments. The course is conducted on modular basis with the modules picked-up from the regular certificate courses of JSWECE. Simulator overview training is also included in the course on demand to give a first-hand experience for the students on thermal power plant operations.

Who can take the course: Final year engineering/diploma students from Mechanical/Electrical/Electronics/I&C/E&C desciplines.

Course Duration: The course duration is as per the requirements from the engineering colleges including the course timings. A standard 4-week module is offered by JSWECE. Colleges can prefer to conduct this course as a part of their industrial training initiatives at the convenient time of the students including during vacations.

Course Fees: A nominal course fee of Rs. 5,000/- per student per week is charged. The course fee includes charges towards course delivery, plant visits, simulator training, certification, course material, working lunch, tea/coffee and hostel charges.

Course Registration: Colleges can book the slots for these short-term courses at JSWECE in advance. A minimum no. of 20-25 students are accepted in a batch. For details regarding availability of slots, course fee, etc., contact In-Charge, JSWECE at the contact address given on this website. or contact by e-mail at: jswece@jsw.in

Please Note: Only group registration from a group of 20-25 students are accepted through the respective Training & Placement Cells or HODs of engineerig colleges.
